Senior Front-End Engineer (Angular) – Real-Time Trading Platforms

About the Role

Join an international team delivering cutting-edge web applications for high-performance trading environments. This role focuses on building a sophisticated, real-time UI that powers critical trading desk operations. You will collaborate closely with product and architecture teams to design and deliver solutions that must perform flawlessly at scale, with price updates visible to traders in near real time.

This is a unique opportunity to be among the first hires in Portugal for an established global business, with strong collaboration across UK and US teams. Occasional travel to London may be required.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain complex, real-time front-end applications using Angular (latest versions), TypeScript, and RxJS.
• Engineer performant interfaces capable of processing and displaying rapidly changing data streams in milliseconds.
• Work with Product Managers, Designers, and Architects to translate trading requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
• Write high-quality, testable code using TDD practices (Jest).
• Proactively identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions to enhance user experience and system reliability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tooling.

Ideal Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of professional web application development experience.
• Expert-level JavaScript and Angular (v18 or later).
• Proficiency in TypeScript, RxJS, NgRx, HTML5, CSS3, and SASS.

Strong background in Nice to Have

• Node.js microservices, Nest.js, MongoDB, or Docker.
• Interest in UX/UI design, DevOps, or front-end tooling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• building front-end applications that consume real-time data from multiple sources.
• understanding of automated unit testing and test-driven development (TDD).
• Excellent communication skills and proactive, collaborative mindset.
• Ability to tackle complex problems, debug effectively, and distill clear solutions.
• Fluent English is required.
