About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Product Owner (4+ years experience) to help drive the development of advanced AI and machine learning products.
This is not a “feature ticket” Product Owner role.
The successful candidate will operate within a highly technical AI environment, working directly with machine learning engineers, software engineers, data specialists, and architecture teams to shape intelligent systems built internally from the ground up.
The role is ideal for someone who understands how AI products are actually developed - including model behaviour, training considerations, evaluation processes, experimentation, and production challenges - and who can confidently bridge the gap between technical execution and product outcomes.
While the position is delivery-focused rather than heavily commercial or externally strategic, experience engaging with customers, users, or business stakeholders is highly valuable. We are looking for someone who can balance technical depth with practical product thinking, rather than operating solely from an internal engineering perspective.
Team Environment
You will join an experienced, senior-level technical team currently made up of:
- Machine Learning Engineers
- Backend/Product Engineers
- DevOps Engineers
- Data Engineers focused on taxonomies, structured knowledge systems, and data quality
- Architecture leadership
- Development management
The wider environment is collaborative, fast-moving, and highly technical, with a strong focus on building proprietary AI capabilities internally rather than relying purely on third-party tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive product delivery across AI and machine learning initiatives
- Partner closely with engineers, ML specialists, architects, and data teams to define priorities and execution plans
- Manage backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery coordination across multiple technical workstreams
- Support experimentation and iterative improvement of machine learning models and AI-driven features
- Translate complex technical challenges into clear product direction and actionable priorities
- Work with teams focused on taxonomies, structured datasets, and knowledge architecture to improve platform intelligence
- Balance roadmap commitments with operational priorities and evolving business requirements
- Ensure development teams remain aligned on product objectives, technical feasibility, and measurable outcomes
- Contribute to product decision-making using data, usage patterns, feedback, and system performance insights
- Identify cross-functional risks and dependencies early to maintain delivery momentum
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, or Product Manager within AI, machine learning, data, or highly technical software environments
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, workflows, and model evaluation processes
- Hands-on exposure to AI/ML products is strongly preferred - ideally involving direct collaboration with ML engineering or data science teams
- Ability to operate confidently within deeply technical discussions and gain credibility with senior engineering teams
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-evolving product environments without rigid playbooks or excessive process overhead
- Strong prioritization and decision-making capabilities across competing technical initiatives
- Experience working with data-heavy platforms, search systems, semantic technologies, or structured information environments is highly beneficial
- Professional English communication skills, written and verbal
