Backend Engineer – Fintech (NodeJS)

Location: Lisbon – Hybrid

As a Backend Engineer, you’ll be part of a fast-scaling fintech company in Lisbon focused on digital payments, banking, and tax invoicing solutions. You’ll design and build secure, scalable backend systems using NodeJS, contributing to a high-impact team driving innovation across core financial platforms.

Your main responsibilities:

• Build and maintain robust APIs and backend services using NodeJS and Typescript.
• Ensure high-quality code through unit and integration testing (Jest).
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment.
• Integrate with third-party services and internal APIs for business-critical features.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and best practices.

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development with NodeJS and Typescript.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with fintech, payments, or regulatory environments (KYC, AML, PSD2) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to security, scalability, and performance.
• Fluent in English; available for hybrid work in Lisbon.
