AI / Machine Learning Developer – Coimbra

About the Opportunity

A new international tech initiative is setting up in Portugal with a dual focus: building strong development teams for European clients and launching its own AI-driven solutions. To strengthen the AI division, we’re looking for talented AI/ML Developers who want to work on cutting-edge applications in areas such as LLMs, computer vision, and NLP.

The Role

You’ll be part of a specialist AI team, responsible for developing, training, and deploying machine learning models. From experimentation and prototyping to production-ready solutions, you’ll help shape the company’s AI proposition and create real-world impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, train, and optimize ML models using frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Work with large datasets, ensuring quality data pipelines for training and inference.
  • Explore and apply techniques in NLP, computer vision, and LLMs.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to deploy scalable AI solutions.
  • Stay ahead of emerging AI trends and bring innovative ideas into projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years’ experience in AI/ML development.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or HuggingFace.
  • Understanding of statistics, data modeling, and algorithm design.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with MLOps tools (Airflow, MLflow, Kubeflow).
  • Familiarity with cloud ML services (AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML, GCP AI).
  • Previous work with generative AI or large-scale LLM deployments.
