Tech Lead Robotics

We are supporting an innovative organisation in the advanced technology sector in their search for a Tech Lead Robotics to join their growing engineering team.

This role offers the opportunity to combine technical leadership with hands-on engineering, contributing to the development of sophisticated robotic systems deployed in real-world environments.

As a senior member of the team, you will help shape software architecture, guide technical decision-making, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve software architecture for complex robotic systems.
• Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot software running on physical systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Drive innovation and contribute to research and development initiatives.
• Support the delivery of reliable, high-performing solutions in operational environments.
• Promote engineering best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement.

About You

You are a hands-on engineering leader with a strong background in robotics and software development. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges while supporting and influencing those around you.

You bring experience in:

• Robotics software development and system integration.
• Designing and maintaining distributed software systems.
• Programming in Python and C++.
• Linux-based environments and modern software development practices.
• Version control systems and collaborative development workflows.
• Debugging and troubleshooting software in production environments.
• Communicating technical concepts and navigating architectural trade-offs.

Desirable Experience

The following experience would be considered advantageous:

• Working with autonomous or intelligent systems.
• Contributing to research and development initiatives.
• Experience with simulation environments and testing frameworks.
• Exposure to containerisation technologies and CI/CD practices.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.
